Here is Deanna's complete bio...taken from her web site:
I was born in Comox, British Columbia, Canada in 1968, and had lived in Northern Ontario for many years. My current home town is Port Alberni, BC. My husband of 22 years Steve and I have 2 teenagers and 3 pit bulls.
I have been drawing for as long as I can remember, as a hobby for well over 25 years. Being an active advocate for animal rescue, and an open home for foster dogs I am always finding amazing animals to draw or paint.
My love of nature, hiking and photography came together nicely for me. I am always inspired to create something new every time I go out for a walk with our dogs.
Pet portraits are what I am best known for, and I love immortalizing our furry family members. I have drawn everything from a parrot to a pot bellied pig, if you love it, I can draw it for you!
My first limited edition print was released in 2001, I currently have 4 Limited Edition prints available at the moment and I just released my newest print .... a special edition for the support of Camp Cocker Rescue in L.A.
|Stanley by Deanna Maxwell (www.deeswildthings.com)|
“Stanley is a rescued pit bull whose life was saved on Christmas Eve 2010. Camp Cocker Rescue saw him in the Carson Shelter, covered in mange, and barely hanging on to life. You can see his whole story at “Stanley, Just One Dog” either on Youtube or Google. He is quite popular now, and living happily with his adopted family in Victoria B.C. I drew his portrait for Camp Cocker Rescue in California, and have limited edition prints for sale, with all proceeds going to their rescue.” - Deanna
