Urban Dog Photog Sue Bird is one of the Paws For Charity founders. She is an awesome photographer, and I am so happy that she was involved with our 2010 Paws For Charity Art Book Project. Sue has lots going on these days.

Sara Harley started Paws For Charity in 2006, while owner of a dog biscuit company. With the help of many people along the way, she has raised thousands of dollars for breast cancer charity. Sara enjoys photography, painting, and creating glass “window art”. But her biggest joy is spending time exploring the oceanside province of Nova Scotia with her life partner and husband John, and her dogs Mulligan and Cassie.

"Phantom" is featured on page 71 of the 2010 Paws For Charity Art Book. This photo is Sara’s tribute to Phantom, who spent 17 years with the family, but recently joined family dogs Bailey and Cinder across the Rainbow Bridge.

“I started the Paws For Charity Art Book project in 2009 to combine two of my passions...raising funds for breast cancer charity (my mom died of breast cancer when I was 21)...and my love of animals. Dan Felstead began his photography journey while in college in the early 1970's. From time to time over the years he has supplemented income through various freelance venues. The inspiration and therapy he enjoys from transferring what he sees in his mind’s eye to the final image is the reason that he still enjoys practicing the art of photography 35 years later.

Rochele Cassidy is originally from Newark, DE and is a California University of PA graduate with a BS in Graphic Communications. She worked in screen printing for 4 years and left the industry to be a stay at home mom. After 10 years of not working, while always keeping her hobby of photography, she started second-shooting at weddings on the weekends. After 3 years of second shooting, she decided to go out on her own and start her own wedding and portrait photography business located in Coatesville, PA. She loves her job!

Linda O'Neill started painting dogs out of love for her own rescue dog, Abby, that she and her husband adopted and adored. Linda received her BFA degree in Printmaking in 1993. Since then she has pursued her career in fine art, developing her style in acrylic paint that flows through her many creative outlets. Her paintings are marked by a bold use of color, shapes and patterns while maintaining a careful and truthful representation of the animals and natural subjects of her work.

Linda's painting "Atticus" is one of three paintings featured on page 25 of the 2010 Paws For Charity Art Book.“It's a privilege to be involved in this book project. I have seen how the healing power of animals has helped those suffering from cancer. Blenda Tyvoll is an expressive artist who paints in a variety of mediums which help to convey her vibrant inner spirit. She studied art and design at Marylhurst University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. Blenda is an award winning and published artist, an active member and recent past treasurer of the Watercolor Society of Oregon. She continues her artistic journey as a full time artist, and her paintings have been purchased by collectors worldwide. Blenda lives in Oregon, USA with her husband, Joe, a dog Zippy, two cats and three horses.

This is Blenda's second year participating in the Paws For Charity Art Project. Her painting "Puppy Love" is featured on page 45 of the 2010 Paws For Charity Art Book. “Paws for Charity brings attention to the importance of a pet's role in bringing comfort, love and companionship to women faced with breast cancer. Kimberly Owen is a wife and mom and lives in a small town in Virginia. In addition to her two children she has four really furry ones! (2cats, 2 dogs). Kimberly works mostly in mixed media art but she has a passion for many different mediums. She loves making dolls and she reads just about anything she can get her hands on!

Pat Nadarajah is a self taught artist who currently draws and paints wildlife and pet portraits. She lives with her husband, two daughters and three border collies. She has always had a love for animals. Growing up, there was always one or two cats in the household.

Pat began drawing when she was old enough to hold a crayon. It wasn’t until four years ago that she decided to get serious about drawing again. Balancing a full time job, family, and many activities, she finds drawing relaxing.

This is Pat's second year with the Paws For Charity Art Book Project. "Rem" is one of two paintings featured in the 2010 Art Book.
“I like my paintings to capture the animal's personality and I strive to achieve that with every work. Although this project is to support breast cancer I would like to think that advances in any cancer research would benefit all cancer research. My father died of bone cancer and never got to see any of my paintings, this is in memory of a gifted artist, my Dad.” - Pat

Melanie Hughes is an amateur photographer who lives in Columbus, Ohio with her husband, two dogs and a cat. Except for a black and white photography class in college, she is self-taught and loves taking photos of nature, wildlife, architecture and especially her pets.

She loves spending time on creative activities and when she’s not taking photos, elanie is usually either sewing, knitting or working on her house. Aside from her creative activities, she loves spending time outside enjoying the fresh air by going for walks with her dogs, working in her yard or hiking at local parks.
